Joseph Carrieres
Joseph Carrieres received a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. Following a tour of duty in the Army as a Russian linguist, he completed a B.A. in Russian at Arizona State University. This was followed by entry into the Dominican Order of the Catholic Church with studies and preparation for the priesthood. Ordination never came about as he left to marry and raise a family, resulting in two beautiful daughters.
His interests are varied and center around philosophy, history, politics, science, sports, (especially basketball!) literature and theology. He is the author of Mormon Controversies: A Balanced Approach, which examines key aspects of LDS history and faith with a unique inclusion of unrestricted responses from Mormon contributors. He is currently completing a work of fiction entitled Deadly Nothingness which relates the story of a nihilist who decides to utilize his vast wealth and talents by becoming the world's deadliest terrorist.
He resides in Phoenix, Arizona, which provides easy access to his favorite location in the world: The Grand Canyon. One great passion is a hike across and back each year, which is the subject of his first article on this site.
